NAPLEX Registration

Getting ready for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination® (NAPLEX®) is one of the most important steps in becoming a licensed pharmacist in the U.S. But navigating registration, eligibility, and costs can feel overwhelming. At Connectek Pharmacy Coaching, we simplify the process for you and guide you every step of the way.

Who Can Take the NAPLEX?

You may apply for NAPLEX if you have:

  • Graduated from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program, OR
  • Earned FPGEC® Certification (for international pharmacy graduates).

Remember: Each state board of pharmacy sets its own additional requirements. At Connectek, we help our students understand state-specific rules so nothing is missed.

Eligibility is confirmed either by your state board of pharmacy or, in some states, directly by the NABP.

  • States where NABP verifies eligibility include: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, D.C., Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, and Wisconsin.
  • For these states, an additional $85 NABP application fee applies.

For all other states, the eligibility process is managed by the state board. Processing time may vary.

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown:

  1. Create a NABP e-Profile
  • Your name must match exactly with your ID documents.
  • Request any discounts (e.g., armed forces) before applying.
  1. Apply & Pay Application Fee
  • Register in the “Exam Services” section of your NABP profile.
  • Pay the $100 application fee (non-refundable).
  • Request ADA accommodations if needed.
  1. Submit Transcripts
  • Your pharmacy school must send an official transcript directly to NABP.
  • No exam purchase is possible until transcripts are received.
  1. Pay Examination Fee & Get ATT
  • Once approved, pay the exam fee ($520).
  • You’ll receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) via Pearson VUE email.
  1. Schedule Your Exam
  • Book your preferred testing date and center through Pearson VUE.
  • Exams are available year-round, with morning/afternoon slots.
  1. Take the Exam
  • On exam day, bring valid photo ID.
  • Arrive at least 30–45 minutes early for check-in.
  • Follow all test center procedures (digital photo, signature, security checks).
  • Application Fee: $100 (non-refundable)
  • Examination Fee: $520 (refundable only if eligibility expires before scheduling)
  • Additional Costs:
    • State processing fees (varies)
    • Transcript fees (varies by school)
    • Score transfer (optional, fee applies)

Total Base Cost: $620+

Want to get licensed in multiple states? You can request NABP to transfer your scores to other boards of pharmacy.

  • Can be requested during application or up to 89 days after the exam.
  • Recommended to apply early to avoid delays.
  • Applications open six months before your graduation date.
  • But you cannot purchase the exam until NABP receives your official transcript with your degree conferral date.
  • Two optional 10-minute breaks during the 6-hour test.
  • Must attempt all 225 questions in order (no skipping or returning).
  • ID must match your NABP e-Profile exactly.
  • Digital photo, signature, and security checks are mandatory.

While the registration process is procedural, preparation is the real challenge. With Connectek’s live interactive classes, practice tests, and recorded sessions, you’ll go into your exam not just eligible — but truly ready.
